Alliance for the Arts

The Alliance for the Arts is the officially designated Arts organization for Lee County charged with the mission to “facilitate and nurture the creation, development, promotion and education of arts and culture in Lee County”. Founded in 1975 by community leaders such as David Robinson and Barbara B. Mann, the Alliance for the Arts mission was created to foster the growth of local arts. The Alliance’s membership includes 50 related arts and cultural organizations and supports over 16 local organizations by providing meeting and classroom space in the 12,000 square foot William R. Frizzell Cultural Centre on a 10.3-acre campus opened in 1992.

Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall

Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre in Fort Myers is now celebrating its 14th Fabulous Season. The theatre entertains over 150,000 guests annually. The 448-seat facility has expanded a number of times and now includes an additional 90-seat “black-box” theatre called The Off Broadway Palm Theatre, and two banquet facilities - Café Cabaret and The Art Café

Collier County Museum

Journey back over 10,000 years of Southwest Florida’s unique past at the Collier County Museum. Learn about mastodons and fierce saber cats, Calusa and Seminole Indians, and the rugged pioneers who settled one of America’s last frontiers. Visitors can enjoy five acres of native gardens, two early Naples cottages, swamp buggies a logging locomotive and even a WWII Sherman tank. Special programs and exhibitions are presented throughout the year. The Museum is located just five minutes east of downtown Naples at the Government Center.

Florida Repertory Theatre

The Florida Repertory Theatre is the only professional regional theatre below Sarasota in Southwest Florida. Florida Rep is an ensemble based company which was established in 1998 as a Not-for-Profit when Producing Artistic Director Robert Cacioppo was offered the historic Arcade Theatre in downtown Fort Myers. Now, as the Florida Repertory Theatre enters its seventh season, it is pleased to boast over 5,000 subscribers, a year-round season, a New Play Reading Series and many education and outreach programs which benefit both the theatre and the community.

Museum of the Everglades

A showcase for the rich and colorful history of the region, the museum displays artifacts and photographs telling the story of 2,000 years of human habitation in southwest Everglades. This lush environment shaped the lives of all who came here: ancient Calusa, Seminole, pioneer and entrepreneur.

Permanent exhibits feature Barron G. Collier's successful transformation of a pioneer village into a modern 1920's town and his fulfillment of a promise to complete the road (the Tamiami Trail) that would open the area to tourism and development.

The von Liebig Art Center

The Naples Art Association's von Liebig Art Center, designed by Naples architect Alfred French, was officially dedicated and opened to the public. The inaugural exhibition of fifty works from its newly formed permanent collection of post-war American Art, an initiative begun in 1995 and acquired through gifts, was exhibited. The two-story, 16,000 sq. ft. center features six studios, lobby gallery, a main exhibition gallery, four galleries-in-the-round, two collection storage vaults, library resource center, gift shop, administrative offices and a catering kitchen. The von Liebig Art Center has become a well-respected and vital cultural resource, and widely recognized for bringing excellence in the visual arts to the growing southwest Florida community.
